Circle in the square

Hermès has a new series of limited-edition scarves out, and behind the poetic names (Greek Island, Silver Dawn) are art works originally created in 1964 by the Bauhaus master/mathematician Josef Albers. Based upon Albers’ “Homage to the Square” series, the six reproductions take their cue from his fascination with chromatic color variations. That said, let’s move on to the fundamental task of accessorizing this season. Should you be lucky enough to snag one of the 200 examples produced in each design, allow us to remind you of the following: It’s hip to square (pun definitely intended).

Tough moment!

This week is quite scary in term of business, the way we saw some collaspe of financial firms and unstable situation in relative to "Hamburger crisis" . This expressed pic would state on every sentences that came by. Live goes on!

Elizabeth Peyton , name to watch

Elizabeth Peyton's sentimental portraits of those who inspire her—everyone from Kurt Cobain to Marc Jacobs—have made her into a media darling. That status isn't going to change anytime soon, especially not with the first major retrospective of her work opening today at Manhattan's New Museum (a fitting location for the downtown habitué). "There's something very daring in all of it," says senior curator Laura Hoptman. "When high and low mix together, it's volatile." Although the paintings of famous types will no doubt prove to be the draw, some of the finest works in the exhibition are of Peyton's friends, lovers, and New York itself (pictured), all of them rendered with typical intimacy. As Hoptman says, "The work is meant to come up and give you a big kiss on the mouth." Given everything else that's going on right now, we'll consider that good news.

Live Forever: Elizabeth Peyton, through Jan. 11 at the New Museum, 235 Bowery, NYC, (212) 219-1222, newmuseum.org

Bond! James Bond is not just for Omega

The first (and still best) Bond is the new face of Louis Vuitton, photographed for the company's latest campaign on a beach near his home in the Bahamas. Okay, so it's not a new film, but it's still intriguing—Connery's wearing a watch that reads "10:07." (You do the math, Lazenby.) As the Telegraph notes, this isn't the actor's first modeling gig: Back in '52, he worked as a life model at the Edinburgh College of Art. The upshot? We can think of far worse ways to bookend a career.

Winner take it all!

Swept all the shows up just one last day of Paris Fashion week. The winner goes to Louis Vuitton. gosh, super sexy , solid color, right shuffle of accessories. No one could mix it up right better than Marc Jacob who completely torn away the dull mood for last day in Paris.

Sexy, saucy, and full-on Parisian, somewhere out of the forties and swizzled up with a dash of glitter and Josephine Baker African razzmatazz—Louis Vuitton came like a cathartic, mood-enhancing cocktail at the end of a long, grinding season. Or as Marc Jacobs, working slicked-back hair and a sharp-shouldered pinstripe suit, had it backstage, "Little Parisienne princess, no?"......( read full review on Style.com , click on the title )

wrong time but right purpose

Sure, publicists have a reputation for, er, exaggerating the wonders of their products, but they're not usually given to overstating the health of the economy. Today's exception to that rule? A press release that begins: "The world has grown outrageously wealthy. It is estimated that the world will have 1,000 new billionaires by next year, with 50,000 new millionaires nipping at their heels. New wealth has spawned new dreams and new demands; the best in everything category is through the roof." Let's hope so, as the pitch is for the brand's new addition to that esteemed "best in everything category": Cellular Cream Platinum Rare, an antiaging cream made in part from (you guessed it) platinum. Your cost: a cool grand for 1.7 ounces. Hey, now's as good a time as any to invest in precious metals.

Wheels not included

Acer's forthcoming LCD monitor is, of course, limited-edition (and possibly intended for those in the throes of a midlife crisis). Only 500 of the 22-inch Ferrari F-22Bids (pictured) will be produced, and as yet, there's no word on pricing or availability. That's too bad, considering its superfast two millisecond response time and sharp 20,000:1 contrast ratio. Looking for a screen you can actually buy? Acer's got you covered there, too: The new 24-inch G24 shares the F-22Bid's response time, but ups the contrast ratio to 50,000:1—an industry first, or so claims the company. At around 400 bucks, it isn't cheap, but something tells us it'll still be less expensive than the version emblazoned with the prancing horse.

Marras' graceful scene for Kenzo

Last winter, Antonio Marras designed pastelly sweet with lots of Japanese archives from Kenzo Takada. This season, Kenzo let Marras do what his own true design is, pure Marras's pieces. " Alice in wonderland" is the main traveling this time thru looking glasses. little nymphes walked gracefully to runway which decorated with lots of flowery printed books (19th century flower wallpaper) As usual the finale is so gorgeous that everyone has to pick mobile to flash on that scene.

Thank to Marras who brought up romantic and feminity to house of Kenzo. It's pleasure to see the show on the weekend.

Stella stellar!

Truly, i'm a fan of her design but not that much. After i have read the release that her company made significant profit figure for Gucci group, i felt that umm.. it should be her happy time and that is shown on her lastest collection. With her personal elementary school art's back drop, Her sexy, elegance and body conscious pieces are stellar! I love the way she made her collection seem androgyny but so sexy in the way of wearable.if you like fluid, she give you, if you like constructed pieces, she give , if you like print , she give and if you like sexy glittering ,she also give. What else do you want for shiny Spring/Summer !

After Philo's absence made Stella shine, let see what is going on when Philo back to Paris with Celine next season.

Welcome to Chanel

KARL won't let the fashion spirit be dampened by anything as unchic as a credit crunch. He recreated a Chanel shop front in the Grand Palais at his show for Chanel S/S 2009 collection, complete with double-C logo-ed awnings and damp-inflicted window frames on the fourth floor. A uniformed male doorman opened the door and a legion of sassy Chanel shoppers sashayed down the catwalk.

It might be a good strategy to implement the familiar environment to viewer which is the main idea for high brand to develop new way to approach customer's mind. Well , i clicked , see you Chanel

Winning black

In Paris, now showing Spring/Summer 2009 collection with aspects of colorful, pale skin , pastel color , tranparency or architectural form. But non of those were obviously notched at the scene like Black , rarely of scences has mixture of other color than black. At Carreau du Temple on the day of Stella McCartney 's show, look what you have!

You would feel it true when you have experiences with the Paris fashion scenes but if you are newcommer , play safe with cool black only,I warn!

Veuve Clicquot Cruise Collection, cheers!!

It's coming for Cruise in November of almost every big Boutiques in Paris.and all this talk of Paris has Chicaholic craving champagne…the real stuff! And the on-going obsession with our favorite widow Madame Clicquot continues. Last night a bevy of guests braved the rain, trekking down to a black tent outside PJ Clarke’s–overlooking the marina–on the Hudson River. And the trip was well worth it as trays upon trays of the latest La Grame Dame and Demi-Sec greeted all. But the seafaring spin was all courtesy of Riva, the luxury yacht company, collaborated with Veuve Clicquot to concoct a must-have for the affluent sailor: The Cruise Collection. It’s a tailor-made bar cabin designed with a painted fibreglass shell and mahogany deck embellished with sycamore inlays.

The Cruise Collection features special tasting areas with four bottles of La Grande Dame Veuve Clicquot, two Millesimate ‘88 Magnums, six flutes, six glasses, plates and cutlery. If that’s not enough, since it’s made to order (starting at $70K) you can personalize it to suit your nautical needs. Can’t afford the lofty price tag? Fear not, there’s the Cruiser Bag which holds a bottle of La Grande Dame ‘98 and two flutes for only $425–now that’s a perfect gift for any occassion, well if you really want to share!

Is she proud? Kate !

The artist's 110-pound sculpture of Kate Moss, on display come Saturday at London's British Museum, is made of 18-karat gold. According to The Times Online, it's "believed to be the largest gold statue made in the world since Ancient Egyptian times." Value? Approximately $2.6 million, though Quinn expects it to sell for about seven times that when it goes up on the block in January. Whether or not it encourages yoga, however, remains to be seen.

I doubt , why Kate ? and why this pose? i've heard that if you have more than one question in mind when you see something called art, it's time to say , That's ART!

cool retro design

Don't be doubt if i said the above stunning egg.. umm ..ok , it's chair was designed and produced in the year of 1945-1970 . This is one of the items which would be shown in the exhibition of Cold War Design at V&A museum in London. This egg was design by West Germany and produced in East Germany ( When the time that Berlin wall seperated themself )for making the process of distribution valid in both side of Germany but failed to success in East cause they could not afford. Sound so historical than beautiful.

No more party girl, i wish

Jessica Stam, Canadian-supermodel, she should totally think about a full-time gig as a party hostess. Last night at—where else?—Régine’s, the supermodel hosted perhaps the chicest, best-attended charitable event the seedy Paris dance club has seen in years. Both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen came, as did Emma Watson, Leigh Lezark, Lauren Santo Domingo, Kate Bosworth, Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, Ryan McGinley, Caroline Sieber, and a slew of other well-turned-out fashion weekers.I've heard this was the best party for the whole fashion week bunch.

As i saw Watson's pic along with the supra cool NYC kiddies, yes, Leigh and Lauren Santo Domingo , whom worn Oliver Theysken's Nina ricci wedding couture gown on her wedding , so jealous! but waitttt... Watson ! Hermione ! Is she allowed to sip Moet ? Ok, time is so fast, now she could even dance and cool, and i knew why Karl Lagerfeld do like her, hope she won't be a fellow to Hollywood grungie, Lohan. So, the rest is fine. I wish!

Sumsung.V.....Very chic

Samsung's new Pixon cell phone doesn't come with, say, a Zeiss lens, it does incorporate an 8-megapixel shooter inside its relatively small frame. (At 13.8 mm, it's a bit thicker than the iPhone.) We're as wary of megapixel creep as the next blogger, but the Pixon also comes with solid features like dual-power LED flash, face detection, and autofocus, not to mention a touchscreen for flipping through your fresh snaps. Look for it later this month overseas; no word yet on when (or if) Sammy's bringing it here.

Balmain Rock!

And now, Paris Fashion week kicked off with lots of party around , esp, 20th year anniversary of Suzy Menkes of IHT. and later in the afternoon,Christophe Decarnin's Balmain is a smack in the eye for fashion doom-mongering. With vintage Madonna on the soundtrack, his Spring show—all bling and rock-chick fabulousness, it should be what Gianni Versace will do on this ere. I'm all for the washed-ripped jean with glittering sandals.
