Treetini Cocktail
Ingredients

2 oz VeeV
½ oz simple syrup
1 lime quartered
Several sprigs of cilantro

In the bottom of a cocktail shaker place the syrup and cilantro, muddle gently, add lime and muddle well. Add VeeV and ice. Shake well. Strain into martini glass. Sprinkle with chili powder

in the Seoul of Prada

The Italian luxury brand's latest project: the Prada Transformer, a tetrahedron-shaped building developed to house cultural events and scheduled to launch in Seoul next year. Designed by Rem Koolhaas and AMO (the think tank of his Office for Metropolitan Architecture), the structure can, er, transform into four different configurations using cranes to rotate its four steel-framed sides. The shape of the building reflects the event it's housing: hexagon, rectangle, circle, or cross—the latter for film screenings, pictured above. Note: Although its temporary run coincides with the release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, we suspect the fare on offer will be slightly higher-brow. Sorry to disappoint, Megan Fox fans.

Harrison + Hamilton

American staple (and Style Guy favorite) Hamilton has teamed up with an unlikely collaborator: Harrison Ford. He helped create the new Khaki Conservation, a special edition of the brand's classic field watch, proceeds from which will benefit Conservation International. As you can see, the design is refined, subtle, and devoid of unnecessary frills—in other words, pretty much the opposite of Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. (Zing!)

Moncler's empire

Moncler will celebrate its first boutique in Milan, at 7 Via della Spiga, with a cocktail party tonight. Designed by Gilles & Boissier to evoke a chalet, complete with wood paneling and fir cones scattered about, it’s the deluxe outerwear brand’s eighth store worldwide. Next up is Aspen, a natural fit with its ski resort, followed by Hong Kong. Manhattanites will have to do their shopping long distance, or visit Bergdorf’s, which stocks the label. Or, consider this third option: Gap. Its gray-flannel puffer (the one on Lily D. in the ads) is a dead ringer for a jacket on the racks of Moncler’s new shop.

Don't be surprised to see mini Fiat car with logo of Diesel.A new boundary occur.Diesel has teamed up with Fiat on a special version of the 500. So what's different? Not much: a spruced-up interior, new trim on the bumpers and body work, different wheels, Diesel logos on the b-pillar and gear shift, and some BeDazzled back pockets. (Kidding.) Only 10,000 will be available; no word on price, but we suspect that a limited-edition car from the brand that brought you $200 jeans isn't going to come cheap.

Lanvin on Savile Row

Nothing is hotter than Lanvin Menswear now. So it should be big statement when Lanvin grace itself to the road on men's cutting edge.
There is scarcely a star more glittering than Lanvin in the menswear firmament at the moment, but it's been hard to grasp the breadth of Lucas Ossendrijver's aesthetic unless you managed a trip to the Lanvin flagship in Paris. And even then the environment wasn't conducive to an entirely fulfilling experience. The Lanvin menswear shop that just opened on Savile Row is altogether different: The brand's concession at Dover Street Market whetted appetites for more, and the Savile Row store delivers it—all the clothes...all the clothes. But the fashion completist in me is drawn to the shoes. Who knew the footwear collection was so huge? There's lots of dark Savile Row-ish wood, and glass cases displaying small precious things, and windows that reflect Alber Elbaz's wayward wit. But I'm coming back for those shoes.

Megalomaniacal villainy and decent timepiece design are apparently compatible. Case in point: the Oddjob, pictured left, named after Goldfinger's mute assassin. It's one of 22 new models from Swatch's 007 Villain Collection, which includes watches inspired by everyone from Dr. No to Live and Let Die's Baron Samedi (he of the diaper-sarong and glow-in-the-dark face paint). If that last sounds unappealing, well, it is. Not every piece in the collection is as successful as Oddjob's, but then, not every villain was as stylish, either.

The new era after Ferre!

Mr. Gianfranco Ferre died in 2007, and his promising successor, Lars Nilsson, was dismissed just before his show in February 2008. So, everyone in fashion world doubt what is going on for this Milano empire.
The new designers, Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi, previously associated with the label 6267, may have changed that. Their collection today embraced all the Ferre elements: architecture, drama, light-emitting fabrics like gazar and organdy, and a kind of chin-up femininity that took from men’s dressing what it needed. The proportions all felt contemporary, especially in the sharpness of slim, belted dresses in white cotton and a snug tuxedo jacket in white marocain with slim silk faille trousers. It seem they find a light with a path now!

This seems to be the week for next-gen portable radios. The latest example? XM Radio's upcoming XMp3. It allows you to store up to 30 hours of live broadcasting from five different channels simultaneously, and comes with a microSD card slot that, when used, effectively turns it into an 8GB iPod. But what's really intriguing is its TiVo-like functionality: The device learns your favorite stations and records them automatically. That's plain cool, even if it isn't going to be cheap: Expect it to be available soon for around $280.

Remember, fasholic, there’s an election's mood is in the air. (As if you could forget.) Svedka served these specialty cocktails at Bloomingdale’s “Beat of Chic” event with Terence Howard, as well as at the Doucette Duval and Gemma Kahn presentations. Here, the recipes:

The Cosmo Politician
2 parts Svedka Clementine
1/2 part orange juice
1 tsp sour mix

Pour all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice and shake for 5 seconds. Strain and pour into a martini glass. Garnish with an orange slice

Gamme Bleu

A new big collaboration begin, again, with big of their own line,Thom Browne and Moncler. Best of menswear and best of skiwear will debut next January: Gamme Bleu, The collection, which will be unveiled in Milan, is the male counterpart to the French brand's Gamme Rouge line, which has featured high-end takes on apparel from the likes of Giambattista Valli and Alessandra Facchinetti. "The idea is to make functional sports clothing," explains Browne. "I want to make the sort thing guys want to see and wear." (Translation: no tutus. We think.) There aren't any renderings yet (and the clothes won't be available until early next summer), but for visual cues, you might want to look at his Fall '09 show.

The Raf in Aoyama

The medium's the message at Raf Simons' recently opened flagship in Tokyo's Aoyama district, where paint-spattered walls reflect some of the patterned fabrics in the designer's collections. The space was conceived by the German-born, L.A.-based artist Sterling Ruby, no stranger to splatter—his own work in ceramics, sculpture, and drawing has emphasized a similarly messy sensibility. But it's a bold gesture for Simons, whose calling card has long been his austerity. Then again, after the cloistral purity of his recent Jil Sander boutique in New York—so minimal that clothing isn't even displayed on the first floor—it's hard to blame the guy for cutting loose.

Herzog's dream come true

This is not a scene from any Sci-fi movie.It's presented nearly without comment: just-unveiled designs for the first-ever high-rise by Herzog & de Meuron, the architects behind (among others) Beijing National Stadium and the Tate Modern. On the one hand, at least the NYC apartment complex isn't another jutting skyline-ready phallus; on the other, well, it kind of looks like it was designed after a long night of Jenga.

Touching HD....HTC

We've made no secret of our admiration for HTC's phone designs, and the company's latest isn't a turnoff, either: The Touch HD, whose specs and photos were officially released today, features the company's usual black casing and a large 3.8-inch screen. (The display's important here: That's "high-definition" in the name.) It runs Windows Mobile 6.1, will render Web pages at their proper width, and comes with a 5-megapixel camera—though not with word on pricing or availability. In other words, it's a covetable addition to the line, even if it's only a placeholder until HTC releases the Android-equipped Dream

A.P.C. + Bruce Weber

The latest from our mailbag: A.P.C.'s fall/winter catalog, an exercise in excess photographed by a master of the field, Bruce Weber. (Although, unlike some of the lensman's other famous catalogs, this one is mostly nudity-free.) The three-volume set documents a road trip starring Stella Tennant, Gia Coppola, a donkey, a horse, and a host of others as they traipse around greasy spoons, old-time barbershops, and grassy knolls. We've got to hand it to A.P.C. for sparing no expense—and also for wishful thinking. Those hoping to fit into the brand's stylish but unforgiving jeans should probably avoid the kind of hearty grub depicted (below).
