Pararell scale, Big name synergize with big name .The rumors are true (no, not those rumors) and Chic Report couldn’t be more thrilled: Madonna’s ads for Louis Vuitton have been revealed. Contrary to previous reports, the images were snapped by Steven Meisel, not Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and show Madge posing–or vogue-ing?–at L.A. restaurant Figaro. You heard it here first,( OK ! second after Style.com :) ) but there are more details on Beyoncé’s collaboration with Thierry Mugler for her upcoming world tour. It turns out the pop diva fell so hard for the fashions of the French eighties star on display at the Met’s Superheroes exhibit she signed him on as artistic director and costumer. Beyond creating the looks for B. and her dancers, Mugler will be giving counsel on just about everything and even doing some directing. Sounds like we’re in for a lot of Fierce-ness.
As you’ve no doubt heard, Claudia Schiffer is the new face of YSL. Schiffer traveled West to be shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in the Hollywood Hills, where the house’s creative team made genius use of the sign’s Y, then echoed in the buttery caramel Easy bag dangling off her arm. We also particularly love this shot, a Style.com exclusive, for its witty synthesis of icons—the Hollywood sign, the house of Yves Saint Laurent, and yes, our favorite German über-model. This image is one of a few that may grace the cover of the house’s fourth Manifesto leaflet advert, to be passed out on Valentine’s Day.

Man about town Timo Weiland is branching out beyond his eponymous line of wallets. His newest venture is a androgynous line of neckwear that is starting to grace the necks of the Manhattan elite. Robin Williams joined a host of designers including Justin Giunta, Phillip Lim, Adam Lippes, and Sue Stemp to toast Weiland at an Interview Magazine sponsored soiree a few weeks back. In addition to the looks seen above, Weiland collaborated with pal and jewelry designer Lizzie Fortunato on limited edition draped collars.
