PRADA leading actors

When Miuccia Prada unveiled her Fall ‘12 menswear collection in January, it was every bit the theatrical event that the invitation had promised (”Prada Presents: Il Palazzo. A Palace of Role Play”), complete with a host of acting stars parading down the red carpet runway instead of the Golden Globes happening the same day in L.A. Four of those actors, Gary Oldman, Garrett Hedlund, Jamie Bell, and Willem Dafoe, have reappeared in the label’s David Sims-lensed, portrait-style Fall campaign. To continue the parody of power that came through so strongly at the runway show, Prada had the actors stand in front of a dramatic red backdrop and strike exaggerated poses for the shoot. Here, Style.com has a first look at one of the photos.

Snowwhite and the Huntsman casting look exquisite on "Interview" instead of movie

These two stunning actresses of the era look just exquisite and mysterious on the cover of Interview magazine. Unlike the movie, I was dissappointed from its pointless plots. There are many new-new plot that director could elaborate but neglect.

A Devil wears Prada Sequel

Finally, nearly 10 years after Lauren Weisberger penned her bestselling novel, The Devil Wears Prada, she’s giving it a sequel. Weisberger is in the process of writing Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, Entertainment Weekly is reporting, to be published by Simon & Schuster in April 2013.

The new book catches up with former Runway assistant-to-the-editrix Andy eight years after she’s parted ways with her demanding boss Miranda Priestly. Though Andy is now the editor of a bridal mag, she’s still “haunted” by ‘Ice Queen’ Priestly– famously inspired by Vogue’s EIC, to whom Weisberger was once a real-life assistant. Sounds like Anna Wintour’s mind-controlling abilities last longer than even we could’ve imagined.

There’s no film sequel in the works just yet but we’d give anything to see Anne, Meryl, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci (who was phenom as Priestly’s jilted colleague) back at it in their TDWP roles. Who knows, maybe it would even inspire another The September Issue-esque rebuttal from our old friend Anna.

Dior's sale figure increased after Galliano , what do you think?

Fashion houses have been struggling lately with the notion of whether or not a label needs a marquee designer to be the face/DNA/personality of a brand. (See: The Simon Spurr fiasco). When Galliano was fired from Dior for his now-notorious anti-Semitic rant, many wondered what would become of the house in the wake of the loss of its charismatic artistic director.

What happened is that Dior’s sales increased. With Galliano’s right-hand man Bill Gaytten standing in until a successor was named, Dior’s revenues hit $1 billion in 2011 for the first time ever, according to the Financial Times. Sidney Toledano, the president and chief executive of Christian Dior was surprised. “I never considered that,” Toledano told the FT. “I always thought we absolutely needed an artistic director.”

From Corporate PR's point of view, this statement is done in objective of gaining confidence to shareholder and consumer for the success of increasing revenue. However, from Fashion journalist's point,I am really upset to see this statement. I adore Raf Simons but my life is totally inspired to Galliano's since his first debut collection. Whoever will replace his magnificent talent and skill.

MDNA - Army of Designers

Madonna’s MDNA concert tour kicks off today in Tel Aviv. While the iconic singer is sure to bring her signature moves to the stage, it’s her costumes that are generating the most buzz. An army of designers—Jean Paul Gaultier, Jeremy Scott, and Alexander Wang—have been enlisted to create eye-catching looks, to be accessorized with shoes from Prada and Miu Miu. Italian designer Fausto Puglisi (who also worked with the singer for the Super Bowl on M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj’s costumes) has also been tapped to design looks for the backup dancers

WISHARAWISH for Mango Fashion Award 2012

Congratulation for Thai designer who received Mango Buttons 2012 Award

From El Botón, the Mango Fashion Awards competition invited talents to participate in its 4th edition asking them "to create their own revolution". Among them is a young designer from Thailand, Instituto Marangoni graduate Wisharawish Akarasantisook whose designs seem to be far more than revolutionary, in the sense that revolution is considered in fashion terms. Actually, he is one of the 10 finalists of this year's contest and as soon as we came across his designs we . Wisharawish who has already won many different contests in Tokyo, Bangkok, and Paris created garments with multiple layering and repetition of forms, combining traditional Thai materials with the newest clothing styles. Thematically Wisharawish's work is based on the idea of rebirth and reincarnation.
