In a luxury pairing the likes of which the beauty industry has never seen, heir to the cognac fortune and current perfumer Kilian Hennessy has teamed up with artist Sophie Matisse (yes, Henri is her great-grandfather) to create the Sophie Matisse Artistic Edition for his fragrances. Sophie has handpainted 50 unique bottles and boxes available for the holiday season at a few worldwide locations. Bergdorf Goodman has even devoted a Fifth Avenue window to the collaboration–it’s only the second time they’ve done so for a beauty brand. If you can get your hands on one of these pieces of fragrant art, it will cost you $1,500. But, hey, it’s a (Sophie) Matisse…and the bottle is even refillable.
